What are the symptoms of hardware failure in explosion-proof cameras?

🚨 I. Image and Optical Symptoms (Most Obvious)

1. Permanent Black Screen/No Signal

Symptoms: Power is on (indicator light is on), wiring is confirmed to be correct, but regardless of restarting, the screen remains black or displays "No Video Signal."

Diagnosis: The image sensor is burnt out, the motherboard core chip is damaged, or the internal cable is broken. This is the most complete sign of hardware failure.

2. Fixed Abnormal Stripes or Color Blocks on the Screen

Symptoms: Vertical or horizontal stripes, large purple/green spots are always present on the screen, or the overall image shows severe color distortion (e.g., all red, all blue), and cleaning the lens is ineffective.

Diagnosis: The image sensor is damaged or the internal video processing circuit is faulty. Note: Scrolling interference stripes are usually a wiring problem, but fixed stripes are mostly a hardware failure.

3. Lens Mechanical Jam or Blur

Symptoms: The zoom lens cannot focus, resulting in a perpetually blurry image; or the gimbal makes a noticeable mechanical friction sound, jams, or even stops rotating completely.

Diagnosis: Motor burnout, gear breakage, or mechanical structural deformation.

4. Complete Failure of Infrared Night Vision

Symptoms: After dark or when the photoresistor is obstructed, the infrared lights do not illuminate at all (excluding insufficient power supply); or the infrared lights illuminate, but the image remains completely black (the photosensitive element fails to switch to night mode).

Diagnosis: Infrared light board burnout, photosensitive switch damage, or filter switching mechanism jammed.

💧 II. Symptoms Related to Physical Structure and Sealing (Unique to Explosion-Proof)

1. Internal Water Ingress, Fogging, or Corrosion

Symptoms: Through the viewing window, water droplets are clearly visible on the internal lenses or circuit boards; water accumulates at the bottom; or severe rust or verdigris appears on metal components.

Identification: Aging and failure of the sealing ring, cracks in the casing, or poor sealing at the cable inlet. This is not only a hardware failure but also signifies a loss of explosion-proof performance, requiring immediate shutdown and replacement.

2. Physical Damage to the Casing:

Symptoms: Obvious cracks, dents, or deformation in the explosion-proof casing, or broken viewing window glass.

Identification: Impact damage. This damage directly renders the equipment no longer explosion-proof, representing a serious hardware safety hazard.

3. Loose or Broken Interfaces:

Symptoms: The video cuts out when the cable is lightly touched; or the metal pins of the power/video interface are found to be bent, broken, or charred.

Identification: Physical damage to the connector, typically requiring replacement of the entire tail cable assembly or interface board.

🔥 III. Electrical and Heat-Related Symptoms

1. Abnormally High Temperature or Burning Odor:

Symptoms: The equipment casing feels extremely hot to the touch (far exceeding normal temperature), or a distinct burning smell of plastic/electronic components can be detected when approaching.

Diagnosis: Internal circuit short circuit, power module breakdown. This is a fire hazard; power must be cut off immediately.

2. Power adapter is "ice cold" and has no output.

Symptoms: The device is not working, and the power adapter feels completely cold to the touch (it should be slightly warm during normal operation). A multimeter shows no voltage output.

Diagnosis: Although this is an external device, it falls under the category of hardware failure-the power module is completely damaged.
