How to install and use an intrinsically safe vibration sensor?

I. Pre-installation Preparation
1. Tool Preparation
You need to prepare tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and thread lockers. Ensure the mounting surface is flat to ≤ 0.01 mm and remove any impurities such as paint and rust.
For intrinsically safe sensors, check the integrity of the explosion-proof mating surfaces to avoid damage.
2. Mounting Location Selection
Preferred location: Bearing seat (drive end/non-drive end), which can monitor for imbalance, misalignment, and other faults.
Alternative locations: Motor housing (near the bearing) or base (to monitor overall vibration).
Avoid installation near fan covers, junction boxes, or heat sinks.
II. Installation Steps
1. Mounting Method
Use an M10 x 1.5 thread or magnetic mount (adhesive adhesive is required for enhanced stability) to secure the sensor to the equipment surface.
If the ambient temperature is high, protective measures (such as thermal insulation) may be required. 2. Orientation Requirements
Vertical installation: Monitors vibration caused by imbalance.
Horizontal installation: Detects alignment issues or mechanical looseness.
Axial installation: Monitors thrust bearing or coupling faults.
III. Wiring and Commissioning
1. Wiring Specifications
Connect the brown wire to the positive terminal of the DC24V power supply and the blue wire to the 4-20mA output. Use mining-grade flame-retardant cable (such as MHYVP).
For transmission distances ≤2km, ensure the cable parameters (resistance ≤12.8Ω/km, capacitance ≤0.1μF/km).
2. Parameter Settings
Adjust the speed threshold using the buttons on the control panel (for example, the GBC20 model supports ±0.1m/s step adjustment).
Check that the output signal is compatible with the DCS/PLC system.
IV. Usage Precautions
1. Environmental Compatibility
Operating Temperature: -40°C to 70°C (0°C to 40°C for some models, such as the GBD20). Humidity ≤ 95%, avoid corrosive gases.
2. Maintenance Requirements
Regularly check installation tightness to prevent loosening and data deviation.
Mark installation points to ensure comparability of subsequent monitoring data.
