Step 1: Troubleshooting "No Picture" or "Black Screen"
This is the highest level of alarm, usually addressed using the "look, touch, test" method:
1. Check Power Supply (Most Common Cause)
Symptom: Indicator light is off, or the power adapter feels cold to the touch.
Cause: Power adapter damaged, internally frozen, or activated by overheat protection.
Operation: In a safe area, use a multimeter to check if the power output is normal. If the adapter is cold and has no output, replace it with a power supply of the same specifications.
2. Check Wiring Connections
Incorrect Wiring: During installation, the positive and negative terminals of the power supply may have been accidentally reversed, preventing the equipment from starting. Reverse them.
Poor Contact: Loose connection at the video BNC connector or terminal block. Re-tighten or replace the connector.
Cable Fault: Use a multimeter to check for short circuits or open circuits in the video cable, and whether it is shorted to the power supply. If voltage is detected on the video line, locate the short circuit or install a fully isolated interference suppressor.
3. Device Program Crash
Symptom: Power supply and wiring are normal, but there is no signal.
Operation: The most direct and effective solution is to power off and restart. Many crashes caused by program malfunctions can be resolved by restarting. If restarting is ineffective, then consider hardware failure.
Second Step: Troubleshoot "Blurry Image" or "Poor Image Quality" If the image is there but unclear, the problem is often with the optics and signal path:
1. Dust or Oil Obstruction (High Probability)
Symptom: During the day, the overall image is hazy, or there are stains in certain fixed locations; at night, the infrared image is washed out and has large halos.
Operation: Carefully clean the explosion-proof viewing window and camera lens with anhydrous alcohol and a special lint-free cloth. This is often the most immediate step in improving image quality.
2. Lens Focus Issues
Symptom: Image details are unclear, as if the focus is off.
Operation: While ensuring a sealed environment, fine-tune the lens focus ring until the image is clearest.
3. Signal Interference
Symptom: Regular horizontal bars, grid patterns, or scrolling black horizontal lines appear on the screen.
Operation: First, check if the video cable is running parallel to a power line at close range; maintain a distance of at least 30-50cm. If the image shows scrolling black lines, it's usually due to "ground loop interference." The most common and effective solution is to install a video anti-interference device.
Step Three: Troubleshooting "Poor Nighttime Infrared Performance"
If your device has an infrared function and the nighttime image is abnormal, you need to find another cause:
1. Infrared LED Not Working: Cover the device's photosensitive sensor (usually on the panel) and observe if the infrared LED lights up. If it doesn't, it may be due to a faulty photoresistor or the LED board itself.
2. Significantly Shortened Night Vision Distance: This is likely due to a dirty viewing window, causing the infrared light to be reflected back prematurely, forming a light curtain. Refer to Step One and clean the glass.
Safety Guidelines During Maintenance
When conducting any troubleshooting and maintenance, several "red lines" must be observed:
1. Never open the enclosure while it is powered on: When it is necessary to open the explosion-proof enclosure, first disconnect the power supply and hang a warning sign. Never operate with power on in hazardous areas.
2. Take difficult faults out for maintenance: If the problem cannot be resolved on-site, the correct procedure is to disconnect the power, remove the equipment, and take it to a safe maintenance workshop for in-depth testing.
3. Restore seals: After maintenance, the explosion-proof surfaces must be coated with anti-rust oil, and all sealing rings and bolts must be restored to their original positions to ensure that the explosion-proof performance is not affected.
